Share Prices for Web



You must register with the static IP address of the machine(s) (even if just testing our web services work), before using our web service with your own front end (web/desktop)/our front ends(web/desktop), as we are providing a free service. If you don't register you may receive no data back. Those whom registered before April 2009, will have to re-register due to the new registration system.

When you are using any front-end for the share price web service, and you get an error saying unable to connect to the share price web service. However, if its a web application you need to check the web service url is pointing to http://www.wsit.me.uk/WebServices3/NETSharePriceWS.asmx.

A web browser with javascript enabled to view either Silverlight/Ajax web applications.

IIS v5/6/7 for Web Application hosting.

Windows Screen viewing: Best viewed at 1024*768 with medium size fonts installed.

Internet access, so as to connect to the Share Price Web Service/RSS News Feed.

Share Prices 4 Web (Silverlight4) Works in IE6/7/8,FireFox/Safari v5, and google chrome. Requires javascript enabled to view. Now with company search (inc. autocomplete). Columns can be sorted, except the currency one. Latest version now includes RSS News Feed web control, the ability to download data to a local xml/json file, and loading progress indicator. Now uses WCF Service, allowing for anyone to use for free without registering. Now using Silverlight v4. If you filter to a single company, the export function only copies the full index; however under silverlight v4, if you select the row, by selecting a field. Then go ctrl+c, then you can paste to any test document/text field in another application.

Share Prices 4 web (AJAX)powered by ADC - this is a local live version AJAX Share Prices web application - a free download can be obtained (its labelled 'Share Prices 4 Web(AJAX)' in the free downloads section.) New version available with column sorting and case insensitive search for a company function. Works in integrated application pool under IIS v7. Fixed enter key functionality on both text boxes, and that the enter key on each text box fires the related button. Also changed the green selection colour to yellow. Now with alternating row colours (which can be changed on screen) and the ability to change the web service url. Works in IE6/7/8,Google Chrome,Safari and FireFox. Now fully Ajaxed, with features such as collapsible panels, autocomplete, and AjaxDataControls GridView.
